12-Day Itinerary
Our 12-Day Essence of Namibia Safari includes an 8-Night Standard Mobile
Safari with a 3-Night Hotel/Guest House/Lodge stay.
DAY 1: WINDHOEK
Windhoek, with its lingering heritage of German architecture, activities and atmosphere is a city that can be visited throughout the year. The first day will be spent at leisure. At around 18:00, we’ll be met by our guide at the hotel reception for a briefing.
*Overnight Accommodation at the Safari Hotel or a similar establishment. (Dinner: own arrangements)
DAY 2/3: NAMIB DESERT – SOSSUSVLEI
Our journey continues south to the heart of the Namib Desert where we make an early morning departure to Sossusvlei. Situated in the oldest desert in the world, we’ll stop in the dune belt to enjoy the changing colours of the world’s highest sand dunes. The morning will be a sight and stroll amongst the dunes of Sossusvlei and Deadvlei. Once we return to camp, we’ll enjoy a short hike through the Sesriem Canyon (Shuttle into the dunes available on clients’ account).
*Overnight: Standard mobile safari. (All meals)
DAY 4: SWAKOPMUND
Swakopmund, with its German colonial atmosphere, is the principal coastal resort of Namibia. Time can be spent at your leisure to enjoy the charm of this old town or to engage in one of the many optional activities (scenic flights, hot air ballooning and the like at your own expense).
*Overnight Accommodation in a Guest House. (Breakfast only)
DAY 5/6: TWYFELFONTEIN VIA CAPE CROSS
On our way to Twyfelfontein, we’ll visit the Cape Cross Seal Colony and a Himba village to gain a glimpse into their way of life. The next day, we’ll visit the Damara Living Museum. Within the framework of the Living Museum, an attempt was made to reconstruct the ‘lost culture’ of the Damara. We then visit the Twyfelfontein area; a UNESCO World Heritage Site with over 2000 rock carvings and walk to view the ancient Bushman rock engravings.
*Overnight: Standard mobile safari. (All meals)
DAY 7/8/9: ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
This park is one of the most important reserves and game sanctuaries in Africa. Thousands of wild animals are attracted to the area, including Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, Hyenas, Elephants, Zebra, Giraffes and several species of Antelope.
